A week ago on Jan. 6, Christians celebrated Epiphany.
Epiphany is also known in Mexico as Día de los Reyes (Three Kings' Day). This holiday represents the day the Wise Men or Magi (los Tres Reyes Magos) gave gifts to Jesus Christ. Throughout Latin America there are variations of how this feast is commemorated.
Epiphany comes from a Greek word meaning manifestation or appearance. Epiphany celebrates that the Christ who was born in Bethlehem is recognized by the world as God. At Christmas, God appears as man in a helpless child and at Epiphany this man appears before the world as God.
