A celebration of the life of James Rex Bennett is scheduled for Saturday, June 4.
Jim went home to be with his Lord on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was born in Elmhurst, Ill., on June 2, 1940.
He lived his first 35 years in Wheaton and Winfield, Ill. He moved his family to Greenbank on Whidbey Island in 1975. He worked in the Building Department in both Island County and later for the city of Mukilteo, where he retired.
Jim leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Kathy; his children Kris Kelly, Cindy Huffer, Katy Bennett and Jimmy Bennett; granddaughters Lexy Bennett, Emily Huffer, Kelly Huffer, Riley Bennett-Teichroew, Emma Bennett and Jenna Bennett. He was much loved by his family and numerous friends.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. June 4 at Whidbey Evangelical Free Church of Greenbank, followed by a luncheon reception for family, friends and neighbors at the Bennett's Greenbank home on Day Road.
