Edward J. Ellis:  1942 - 2014

Edward J. Ellis, of Mukilteo, passed away on October 2, 2014 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born to Edward R. Ellis and Beverly (Dudder) Ellis on July 12, 1942.

Ed was a graduate of Langley High School in 1960, where he played football, basketball and track. He attended junior college with an interest in carpentry and automotive classes. Ed began his career as an automotive machinist in Seattle. In 1976 he moved to Yakima and worked as a foreman for Central Engine and Machine until 1994. Ed retired in 2008.

Ed had a passion for golf and was active in the Suntides Golf leagues and was a member Mt. Adams Country Club for many years. He enjoyed his activities at the YMCA, participating in basketball and racquetball leagues. He also enjoyed river floating, motorcycles and also participated in western dance competitions in the 1980’s. He was a proud member of the Eagles for over 35 years.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sue (Burmaster) Ellis, sisters, Marilynn Christoperson and Beth (Bob) Miller, his mother Beverley (Dudder) Ellis, son, Edward S. (Tami) Ellis, daughter, Kellee Ann Ellis, stepchildren, Aletha (Tyler) Thrush and Ashley (Kory) Weaver.
