Alicia Dee ‘Dee’ Tindall: 1948-2014

Alicia Dee “Dee” (Anderson) Tindall of Milton-Freewater, Ore., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014. She was 66 years old.

Dee was born on Aug. 20, 1948, in Spokane to Weldon and Vivian (Dunning) Anderson. Her maternal grandparents were Cyrus and Vesta (Loney) Dunning; paternal grandparents, Carl “Andy” and Andrea Anderson.

She attended Walla Walla High School and Whitman College, and in 1968 moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, earning a bachelor’s degree and a certificate in education.

Dee was a gifted musician and a dedicated and innovative music educator for Washington state public schools, where she brought her love of music to students and her colleagues for over 25 years.

A talented and accomplished French hornist and a lovely vocalist, Dee performed in symphonies, orchestras and choirs around the U.S. and internationally.

In 2009, she returned to the Walla Walla Valley to retire, and lived out her days in sunshine and peacefulness.

Dee is survived by her two children, Andrea Dee Tindall of Denver and Jerald “Jerry” Steven Tindall of Seattle; by her brother, Cyrus Gordon Anderson of Vashon Island, Wash.; and by her first cousin, Barbara (Woiblet) Lubbes of Milton-Freewater, Ore.
