Kamiak senior Joban Mand was named the first-place winner in the high school essay division of the 2023 Prodigies for Peace Writing and Arts Contest. Five Mukilteo School District students were honored in the annual contest organized by the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee.
It was pure happenstance that Joban Mand overheard two of his friends talking about the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee's annual Prodigies for Peace Writing and Art Contest.
