A Mukilteo man who pled guilty to two counts of rape was sentenced to two years and four months in prison during a sentencing hearing Friday, Jan. 6, in Snohomish County Superior Court.

In October, Cameron Reed Stone, 23, pled guilty to two felonies: third-degree rape and third-degree rape of a child. The prosecutor’s office recommended a sentence of two years and four months. The state sentencing range for child rape is 26 to 34 months.

Superior Court Judge Bruce Weiss ordered Reed to undergo evaluation for substance use disorder and sexual deviancy upon his release as part of his three-year community custody, or parole, sentencing.

Other community custody conditions include not seeking employment or volunteering in any place that places him in contact with minor children; staying out of areas where children’s activities are held; not dating any women or forming relationships with families who have minor children; and not staying overnight in a residence where minor children are present, except with his brother.

In addition, the court indicated that Stone, a Kamiak graduate, should not possess or consume marijuana without a valid prescription. In 2018, he used a marijuana vape pen to lure one of his victims.

Stone was also directed not to have any contact with either of the two victims. In addition, he will have no contact with minor children except for his brother.

The child rape took place in February 2018 when Stone, a 2018 graduate, would have been 18, four years older than the victim.

Mukilteo Police initially were speaking with a different girl about another sexual assault by Stone that allegedly occurred in a wooded area near Kamiak.

That girl told police a friend said Stone also had sexually assaulted her.

Police reached out to the friend, who confirmed that Stone had raped her. The girl, 14 at the time, said the alleged assault took place when she was in the defendant’s car while in a parking lot on 47th Avenue West near the Kamiak sports fields.

Stone had been accused of raping at least four girls in 2018 while enrolled at the school, according to Snohomish County court records.

The victims’ ages ranged from 14 to 15 years old at the time, and they were all acquaintances of the suspect, who was 18 at the time of the incidents, according to the Mukilteo Police Department.

The victims were interviewed in 2018 and 2019, and all incidents were reported to the school resource officer stationed at Kamiak. The investigation took more than seven months.
