True indie: Young director gets by on $1,000 budget

'The Woman' debuted at the Edmonds Theater; available to stream

Rose Kreider directed "The Woman," which debuted at the Edmonds Theater.

Bothell model and actress Rose Kreider shifted from her usual role in front of the camera to behind it as she wrote, directed, and produced her first film, "The Woman."

She debuted with cast members and friends lastmonth at the Edmonds Theater.

Inspired by a dream she had in October 2021, Kreider describes "The Woman," rated PG, as a story about family, finding yourself, and growing up in your 20s.

Based in Seattle, the film concerns a struggling art student named Noah (Aleksey Weyman), who attends the University of Washington and is from Mukilteo. His character was kidnapped at 8 months, a...
