Mariner standouts shine in Wesco track and field competition

Means dominates boys hurdles; Camara wins shot put, discus for girls

Mariner's Angela Rodriguez-Frias won the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 1.5 inches.

Mariner's Jaquan Means ran away from the field in the hurdle events during a Wesco boys track and field meet against Glacier Peak and Cascade March 31 at Goddard Stadium.

Means finished first in the 110 high hurdles in 15.58 seconds, and then cruised to a victory in the 300 hurdles in 41.19, both personal records.

Mariner also dominated the pole vault where Eric Bang edged teammate Matthew Meisner for first place. Bang cleared 10 feet, 6 inches, while Meisner finished with a height of 10-5.

Bang also took second in the triple jump. Calvin Gutierrez took second in the shot put and discus....
