Former legislator Jeannette Wood dies at 88

Jeannette Wood, who served the 21st Legislative District, died Jan. 9 at age 88. The district serves Mukilteo, Edmonds, Woodway, and portions of Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace.

She was born Feb. 19, 1932.

Wood, a Republican, was appointed to the House of Representatives in July 1988 to serve an unexpired term. She served in the House until her appointment to the Senate in 1994, where she served until 1999.
