3 a.m. is a precarious time for humans to be riding on planet earth. As the giant rock we call home orbits the sun and spins on its axis, astronomers say that at 3 in the morning – your time – you’re on the side facing into the void. Sort of like the front row on a roller coaster. So if there were to be something in earth’s path, say an asteroid that nobody spotted, and the earth smacks into it at 3 a.m. your time, you’re history.
I sometimes lay awake at 3 a.m. That’s my worry hour. Since reading that interesting factoid about the orbiting earth many years ago, I remind myself...
