Despite being one of the most widely celebrated Jewish holidays, understanding why we celebrate Hanukkah can be confusing.
First, there is the common misperception that Hanukkah is the Jewish Christmas (it’s not in any way, shape, or form) although you can’t really blame somebody for thinking that given how the advertising world presents it.
