Overall sales tax revenue ahead of last year

The latest numbers on sales tax revenue for the City of Mukilteo seem to be generally positive.

In her monthly budget update to the City Council Monday, July 20, finance director Michelle Meyer said that although the June numbers are $40,000 lower than a year ago, overall sales tax revenue for the year is higher than last year.

The June numbers are for sales reported in April.

“That was the month we were expecting to see significant changes,” Meyer said.
