The Mukilteo City Council will hold a public hearing on interim flood hazard regulations on Monday, July 20.
The public hearing will start at 7 p.m. and will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Zoom link will be available on the Council agenda approximately five days in advance of the meeting. Council agendas are available online at: https://mukilteowa.gov/city-council/council-meeting-agendas-minutes-audio-video/
The purpose of the public hearing is to complete adoption of the interim flood hazard regulations in accordance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act of 1973 and the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 and Washington State Floodplain Management Regulations. The interim controls were prepared by the City to repeal and replace Chapter 15.12 of the Mukilteo Municipal Code and keep the regulations current with the updated Flood Insurance Study and Flood Insurance Risk Map. All supporting documents are available on the City’s website for review at: https://mukilteowa.gov/departments/planning-development/planning-long-range/flood-hazard-controls-update/
All members of the public are welcome to provide testimony either virtually at the public hearing or in writing. Written comments, which will be provided to the City Council, will be accepted by email to [email protected] until 4:30 p.m. on July 20.
If you have a disability which may limit your participation in the hearing process, please contact the City Clerk’s office at [email protected] at least three business days in advance of the hearing so that the City can arrange a reasonable accommodation for you.
