Letter to the editor: Government shows no common sense in deciding what qualifies as an essential business

I read with interest Mayor Gregerson’s feelings about having no regrets in reporting alleged business violations.
It seems she thinks that it is fair to have the government decide what is essential and what is not. There wouldn’t be an issue with businesses opening before they are allowed by the stay-at-home directive if it was really fair how the “essential” business was determined. Who is to say that a pet sitter isn’t essential to the person who is at work all day and needs their pets looked after and exercised?
