Editor's note: The Beacon is republishing stories we think will be of interest to readers. This feature is on barber Mickey Rounds, who celebrated his 30th anniversary in 2018. The story, written by former editor Brandon Gustafson, was originally published June 27, 2018.
If you ask Mickey Rounds why he decided to become a barber, he'll tell you about his mom and sister.
"I was young and was at a point when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life," Rounds said. "My sister and mom thought being a barber would be a good job because I could stand and talk all day."
