Fire department sees decline in calls; police stays the same

The number of ambulance transports by the Mukilteo Fire Department was down by about a third last month, apparently due to the public’s concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.
The department usually had about 90 ambulance transports each month, but in April the number was down to 60.
It’s early, but the levels seem to be trending upward for May.
“We’re, over the last few days, starting to get back to normal,” Fire Chief Chris Alexander said.
Alexander emphasized that if people have urgent health concerns, they should not hesitate to call 911.
