Mukilteo Police recognize National Pet Day

Last updated 3/11/2020 at 12:33pm

National Pet day is April 11. In recognition of pet needs throughout the entire community, The Mukilteo Police Department will collect newly purchased pet goods during the month of March.

All items must be delivered in sealed and originally packaged condition. After April 11, the collected items will be delivered to a local animal shelter in Snohomish County for distribution.

Recent data suggests that, on average, nearly 6.5 million companion animals enter animal shelters every year, and 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted each year. Most shelters depend on donations to provide care and comfort to animals in the community when they have nowhere else to turn.

The Mukilteo Police Department will be collecting new items such as dog/cat toys, food, blankets, towels, leashes, collars, and food dishes.

Front office support staff personnel will happily accept new and originally packaged donations at the lobby of the Mukilteo Police Department at 10500 47th Place West, Mukilteo, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

The Mukilteo Police Department has an Animal Control Officer available during those hours who can answer questions regarding your pet.
