Sound Salmon Solutions, a new nonprofit organization in Old Town, hosted the city's first annual Polar Bear Plunge Jan. 25. Participants ran into the rigid waters of the Mukilteo waterfront to ring in the new year – just a few weeks late.
About 50 people showed up to the park in costumes, onesies, and swim trunks. Volunteers even dressed up in scuba gear and waded into the Puget Sound pre-plunge to protect divers from a sudden drop in the water.
