Kamiak's Cantini ready for challenging season | Wrestling

Senior standout should be top contender for state title

Kamiak senior Diana Cantini is in control of Burlington-Edison's Chloe Myers during a 110-pound semifinal match at the Everett Lady Classic Saturday, Dec. 14, at Everett High School. Cantini, who took second at state last season, went on to win the tournament title.

Kamiak senior Diana Cantini usually knows the competition in her weight class pretty well.

At the Yelm Jump On In tournament, Cantini had wrestled her first two opponents in previous invitationals.

But when Cantini looked across the mat in the 115-pound finals, she saw an unfamiliar face – White River's Anna Dicugno – and an opportunity to continue to grow as a wrestler.
