Retaining wall will be built after nearly 8 years

City secures additional funds from FEMA

The 61st Place West retaining wall will finally be fixed after nearly eight years. Council unanimously approved and authorized Mayor Jennifer Gregerson to sign the Hazard Mitigation Grant Agreement at a meeting Dec. 2.

The funds secured will ultimately rebuild a retaining wall that failed in January 2012. The project has seen significant delays due to a landslide in the area and efforts to increase the grant funding.
