Kamiak, Mariner drop season openers | Girls basketball

Kamiak got off to a slow start against Lynnwood and couldn’t recover. The Royals took a 22-10 lead after the first quarter and rolled to a 62-42 victory over the Knights in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Lynnwood High School. Junior center Brooke Erlandsen led Kamiak with 11 points and junior center Sloane Loudenback added 9 points.

The Knights travel to Archbishop Murphy for a nonconference match-up at 7:15 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6.

Mariner also had offensive struggles in the first quarter against Marysville-Getchell. The Chargers outscored the Marauders 20-3 and coasted to 50-21 victory in a nonconference girls basketball contest Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Marysville-Getchell High School. Seniors Rachel Hendrickson and Melissa Pere each scored 5 points for the Marauders.
