Kamiak had the edge on Monroe through the early part of the second quarter.
The Knights had just scored their second touchdown to take a 13-0 lead.
But Monroe returned the ensuing kickoff for a score and the momentum suddenly shifted 180 degrees.
The Bearcats followed with seven unanswered touchdowns and cruised to a 48-13 victory in a Wesco 4A football game Friday, Oct. 12, at Monroe High School.
“Early in the game, we were pretty much playing them even,” Kamiak coach Bryant Thomas said. “All it takes is one or two things in a game and momentum shifts in a heartbeat.”
