Mickey’s Hometown Barbershop celebrating 30-year anniversary

If you ask Mickey Rounds why he decided to become a barber, he’ll tell you about his mom and sister.

“I was young and was at a point when I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life,” Rounds said. “My sister and mom thought being a barber would be a good job because I could stand and talk all day.”

Though they were partially joking, Rounds, now 59, attended barber school and ended up opening his business, Mickey’s Hometown Barbershop, in July of 1988, in his hometown of Mukilteo.
