Oil paintings portray dreamy landscapes, realistic still life

“The Walrus and the Carpenter,” a 14-by-18-inch oil painting by Michelle Waldele.

Beginning Thursday, the Cole Gallery in downtown Edmonds welcomes the award-winning work of two Northwest oil painters.

Works by Michelle Waldele of Bothell and Scott Gellatly of Portland will be on display through Oct. 16. Meet the artists during Art Walk Edmonds, 5-8 p.m. Sept. 21, and enjoy light dessert bites and a champagne toast.

Waldele’s exhibit is called “From the Garden to Home, Vibrance In Still Life.” Her realistic still life paintings are described as striking, rich and nostalgic, drawing the viewer into enchanting storybook scenes. With an affinity for collecting antiq...
