Let us unite in peace against greed, corruption

We simply need to convene The Big Meeting as preordained – the conference where we lock the doors and affirm: “Nobody goes home until peace.”

Right now, this meeting is only a motion away. The change is in effect.

Change for the better is something that we've always wanted, always prayed for, so I celebrate the blessing of being alive right now during this particularly unique and remarkable day, this window of history when the greed movement is finally careening into the direction of its collapse.

We today experience greed self-destructing under the weight of its own perversity, and experience a kind God gifting us hugely with new degrees of His uprooting of injustice and of His appropriate – yet mercifully measured – wrath.

Worldwide, the masses are taking it to the streets, to their voting booths and to their ever-burgeoning web correspondences with kindred spirits – a new wave of united and vocal opposition to bloated greed and the cancerous corruptions of abused power and privilege.

This much needed and much prayed-for change time is good news. It's the best news. A most wonderful news that is, for now, perhaps shouted down by the labor pains of its birthing.

But, no surprises here. Our good Lord has seen all of this coming. Through Bahá'u'lláh (“The Glory of God,” 1817-1892) God reveals:

“The signs of impending convulsions and chaos can now be discerned, inasmuch as the prevailing order appeareth to be lamentably defective.

“The winds of despair are, alas, blowing from every direction, and the strife that divideth and afflicteth the human race is daily increasing.

“Consider for instance such things as liberty, civilization and the like. However much men of understanding may favorably regard them, they will, if carried to excess, exercise a pernicious influence upon men.

“We can well perceive how the whole human race is encompassed with great, incalculable afflictions. We see it languishing on its bed of sickness – sore, tired and disillusioned.

“They that are intoxicated by self-deceit have interposed themselves between it (the human race) and the Divine and infallible Physician. Witness how they have entangled all men, themselves included, in the mesh of their devices. They can neither discover the cause of the disease, nor have they any knowledge of the remedy.”

And God has revealed our rescue cure:

“The All-Knowing Physician hath His finger on the pulse of mankind. He perceiveth the disease, and prescribeth in His unerring wisdom, the remedy.

“If the rulers and the kings of the earth, the symbols of the power of God, arise and resolve to dedicate themselves to whatever will promote the highest interests of the whole of humanity, the reign of justice will assuredly be established amongst the children of men, and the effulgence of its light will envelop the whole earth."

And then here is our Lord's formal command for a mandatory meeting:

“O contending peoples and kindreds of the earth! Gather ye together and for the sake of God resolve to root out whatever is the source of contention amongst you.

“All men have been created to carry forward an ever advancing civilization. Set your faces toward unity, and let the radiance of its light shine upon you.

“Cleave unto that which draweth you together and uniteth you.”

Like, maybe, love for our children, air, water, freedom, absence of huge explosions, you know.

Please, dearest Lord, mercifully cause this meeting to be generated by prescient vision and wise defusing rather than after huge explosions. Since your Word will not return void, I'm going to enjoy now.

In closing, a Bahá’í prayer:

“O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.

O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself. I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord.”
