Timothy Latham Tennis passed away on April 25, 2025, in his hometown of Yakima, Washington, at the age of 74. Born in Yakima on April 9, 1951, Tim went on to spend most of his life in Western Washington, where he followed his passions, shared his talents, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.
A gifted guitarist, Tim inspired many musicians around the Seattle area with his distinct playing style. His sound was raw, soulful, and unmistakably his own. Whether on stage or just jamming with friends, he played with heart, and his music lives on in the people who learned from and loved listening to him.
Tim also had a lifelong love of aviation, a passion sparked early by his father. This passion led him to graduate aircraft technician school, work as a flight instructor, and later a career with Boeing, where he worked in quality control until his retirement. His fascination with flight never faded.
He had a laid-back love for life's simple pleasures of sunny days, cold beer, good music, and time with his family. He was into shooting guns, watching airplanes, and never missed a chance to crack a joke. His love of the sun was evidenced by his vocal dream of moving to the island of Hawaii, showing he was independent, curious, and a true free spirit.
Tim passed peacefully with his sons, Logan and Landen, by his side. He is survived by both of them, and by his siblings Pat, Dan, Joel, Lisa, Sean, and Peter. He was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Bill and Barbara. Tim was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of Tim's life will be hosted at noon on July 13, 2025, at Remlinger Farm in Carnation, Washington. All who knew him are welcome to come share memories, music, and stories in his honor.
