And then there were 4

Mukilteo City Council candidate Jon Welton announced this weekend that he’s out of the race for the Position 2 council seat.

“I would like to let everyone in the Mukilteo area know that I have officially dropped out of the race for personal reasons,” he announced.

“I hope that all residents choose wisely with the four candidates left in the race for position 2! I wish all of them the best of luck!”

Since ballots have already been printed, Welton dropped out too late to have his name removed from the Aug. 5 primary ballot.

Four candidates remain in the crowded race for the open position. They are: James Sterba, Carolyn (Dode) Carlson, Tina Over, and Riaz Khan.

Look for their responses to the Beacon questionnaire in this week’s printed edition of the Mukilteo Beacon.
