Ryan Wilson: 1987 – 2023

Born in Everett, Washington, Ryan passed away in Lynnwood, Washington, at age 36 on April 21, 2023.

Preceded in death by his grandfather Richard Sennet, grandfather George Wilson, aunt Donna Garka, uncle Vernon Sennet, and stepfather Tim Hauser.

Ryan leaves behind his loving parents, father Stuart Wilson and mother Barb Hauser New; brothers Jayson Wilson and Kellan Wilson; stepmother Melissa Wilson and stepfather Robert New; grandmothers Myrna Bates and Ruth Gustafson; stepgrandfathers Steve Bates and Steve Gustafson; aunts Ellen Grove and Sherry Sennet; uncles Don Garka, Howie Sennet, and Jeff Grove; nephew Wesley Wilson, along with extended family members and friends. Ryan leaves behind his girlfriend, Meghan McGowan, and her two children, Cassidy McGowan and Izzy McGowan of Denver, Colorado.

Ryan attended Heritage Christian School, Canyon Park Junior High, Kamiak High School, and Edmonds and Shoreline Community Colleges. Ryan was an accomplished musician, playing guitar and singing vocals with bands Gamble in the Litter and Pharaohs of the Sun. Ryan enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He had a tender heart for rescuing animals that he found injured and cared for until they could go back into nature.

Ryan's passion and career were fishing and seafood. Ryan spent two seasons purse seine salmon fishing in Alaska. In his later years, Ryan worked as an oyster server at several seafood restaurants in Seattle including Taylor Shellfish, Bar Melusine/Boat Bar, and Westward, which are all part of the Eat Sea Creatures family of restaurants. His last position with Westward was lead Oyster Shucker where his co-workers and customers affectionately called him "The Oyster King."

Ryan is remembered in stories told that recount his kind heart or his quick wit. He wrote music and shared it generously with others. A collection of his music will be released at a later date.
