Mukilteo's Beard tops hammer field at Eason

Kimberly Beard, an eighth-grader at Northshore Christian Academy, won the girls hammer exhibition at the Eason Invitational April 22 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Snohomish. Beard set a personal record with a throw of 152 feet, 1 inch. Kamiak’s Alessandra Valmonte was third and Avery Stengele was fifth.
Beard set eighth grade records in the discus (100-2) and the shot put (36-8) at an April 27 middle school meet in Coupeville. Both marks are the top state marks to date.
