Future is promising for young Mariner team

The Mariner baseball team played its best game since coach Reggie Corns took over the program three years ago.
So it didn't come as much of a surprise that the Marauders picked up their seventh victory of the season, defeating Highline 6-2 in an April 28 contest at Evergreen High School in Seattle.
The win came just a day after another solid effort, but a losing one against the Glacier Peak freshman squad, which beat Mariner 6-1 at Mariner High School.
"We hit the ball," Corns said. "The game before we played all right. We just didn't hit the ball."
