Edmonds police shot and killed a man Friday on Highway 99 after he charged at them with a knife, said Snohomish County Sheriff's spokesperson Courtney O'Keefe.
Detectives with the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) are investigating the officer-involved shooting that occurred at about noon at a motel in the 22100 block of Highway 99.
Edmonds police officers were on scene investigating a domestic violence incident involving a male suspect in his 40s and an adult woman. Officers had probable cause to arrest the suspect, said O'Keefe.
