On the warmest day of the year, Kamiak's bats were heating up the softball diamond.
The Knights smashed two home runs and collected 15 hits to defeat the Marauders 19-1 in a Wesco 4A game called after five innings due to the 10-run rule April 7 at Phil Johnson Ballfields in Everett.
Junior Samantha Rohwer was 3-for-4 with seven RBI and four runs to lead Kamiak (1-0 in the league, 7-3), which was coming off its worst loss of the season – 8-1 to Snohomish – three days earlier.
