I am one of those people who like to study language. Language, including idioms, says so much about one’s country and culture.
Take English, for example. It is one of the most idiom-filled languages. And one reason is the invasion of England by the Normans in 1066. (Note, Normans not Mormons – who never invaded anywhere except Utah and a little corner of Illinois – until they were unceremoniously asked to leave shortly after arriving!)
