City Council passes religious freedom resolution
Unanimous vote supports the wearing of religious clothing

The Mukilteo City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution promoting religious freedom and supporting the choice of religious clothing following a robust discussion during its April 11 meeting.
The resolution, proposed by Councilmember Riaz Khan, noted that countries such as India and France have initiated crackdowns on hijab or religious clothing, which it said are inconsistent with American values and the values of Mukilteo.
