Council approves body-worn video redaction fees

The arrival of body cams at the Mukilteo Police Department means new fees associated with public records requests and the costs of redaction.

During its March 21 meeting, the City Council unanimously approved a rate of $55 per hour to redact or remove certain elements from a video based on the amount of time it takes staff to complete a public records request.
