Letter to the Editor: State of City address should have been open to all

Mayor Joe Marine chose to give his State of the City speech at an exclusive, paying event. The speech, including Q & A regarding the mayor's plans for our community, should have been open to all community members without cost.

It should have been livestreamed without editing. As of this writing, the video of the event has not been shared to the City of Mukilteo website nor the City's Facebook page as promised.

Mayor Marine's choice sends a strong message to our community.

Amen MS. O'Connor. This presentation should have been open to all. The Waterfront development is important to all of us. Mayor Marine has not even named the so called stakeholders that will help decide the fate of the waterfront. He and the Port of Everett are privy to that information, not even sure the council has that information. The waterfront decisions should involve the city council, who represent us all. Actually, isn't the Mayor supposed to do that as well?
