As we turn the page of the calendar this year, we also turn the page of the liturgical season to Lent.
In March, in the Christian tradition, we begin the journey of Lent. This season is a time of reflection and meditation on the mortality of our very bodies. We begin on Ash Wednesday with a smudge of ash on our foreheads in the shape of a cross and the words, “Beloved Child of God, from dust you came and to dust you shall return.”
