Kamiak came out strong in its 4A District 1/2 girls basketball district playoff opener.

The Knights jumped out to a 7-3 lead against Issaquah.

But the Eagles started making baskets, and Kamiak's defense and shot selection faltered, and Issaquah pulled away from the Knights in the second quarter to claim a 61-36 victory Friday, Feb. 11, at Issaquah High School.

Kamiak coach May Tupua was pleased with her team's start in the first quarter before the Eagles went on a 12-4 run to take a 15-11 first quarter lead.
