Many Mukilteans will remember the huge pier that projected out into Possession Sound from where our new ferry terminal is now. Some may recall its association with the U.S. Air Force Defense Fuel Support Point (aka "Tank Farm") facility that operated along Mukilteo's waterfront from 1951 to 1987. Older residents may also remember the pier's earlier construction and use by the U.S. Navy as an ammunition loading dock during World War II.
