Christmas cards were our first form of social media

Those days of yesteryear are now in our history books. I am talking about the times when we would get Christmas mail twice daily, which included Sundays, hand-delivered by a usually smiling mailman. These friendly mail carriers would walk up on our porches and place the mail through the slot, which was built into our front doors.
Those were the days of the 3-cent stamps, which indicated the Christmas card would be delivered by truck or by the railroad system to the city of address. Or one could splurge and put out a whopping 4 cents for an “AIR MAIL Eagle” stamp, so that – possibly ...
