Hammons leads Knights to 5th-place finish at districts | Boys cross country

Kamiak’s Jackson Hammons took third place in the 4A District 1 boys cross country championships Saturday, Oct. 30, at Lakewood High School.

Hammonds helped lead the Knights to a fifth place finish, earning the team a trip to the state championships Saturday, Nov. 6, at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Hammons clocked in at 15 minutes, 53.4 seconds. Teammate Jaedyn Chase was 10th in 16:17.1, and Mason Hammons was 27th in 16:43.8.

The Knights scored 127 points to place just ahead of Redmond, which had 131.
