Fire department: No personnel losses due to vaccination mandate

The Mukilteo Fire Department can breathe a sigh of relief.
In the weeks leading up to the Oct. 18 deadline mandating that state workers, educational employees, and health-care providers be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus or risk losing their jobs, seven of the city’s fire department operations personnel were not in compliance.
On deadline day, the number was four. The four applied for exemptions, which were all approved by the city.
