A rubber ducky at the beach provoked questions, but perhaps no answers.
Walking along the beach the other day, a bit of bright yellow entered my field of vision. It caught my attention because on a Pacific Northwest beach in the fall, the colors tend to meld together in shades of stunning gray – the clouds, the mountains, the rocks, the water, even the birds and driftwood.
Bright shocks of color are rare, especially yellow.
It was a rubber ducky. There was a rubber ducky sitting on a large branch of driftwood, seemingly staring pensively at the sea.
