Discovery Elementary addition begins with land blessing

Tulalip Tribe members partner with district and construction staff in groundbreaking

Tulalip Tribes presented the Mukilteo School District with a Tulalip Tribes flag as part of the land blessing and groundbreaking ceremony for Discovery Elementary School's addition.

About 50 people gathered on the soft dirt that will be the site of Discovery Elementary School's new addition.

They squinted in the warm afternoon sun of Sept. 9, some holding hard hats, shovels and drums. It was a unique groundbreaking ceremony and the first of its kind in Mukilteo School District.
