City Council race between Carlson, Crocco still too close to call

Two political rivals remain on friendly terms

City Council candidates Carolyn "Dode" Carlson and Alex Crocco were all smiles at the Music at the Beach concert Saturday, Aug. 14, at Lighthouse Park. Crocco is ahead of Carlson by seven votes in the race for second place for Position No. 3 as of Tuesday's vote count.

The battle for second place in the Mukilteo City Council Position No. 3 race is headed for extra innings.

Former Boeing manager Alex Crocco maintained his slim lead over Carolyn "Dode" Carlson after Tuesday's vote count. Crocco has a seven-vote advantage.

Crocco leads 23.85% to 23.73% (1,370 to 1,363).

Former Councilmember Steve Schmalz finished first in the Position 3 race with 38% (2,195). Tim Ellis was fourth with 14% (797). The top two finishers advance to the Nov. 2 general election.
