The team of Kaelyn McMahon, Hanna Barhoum, Ella Hackcock, and Maggie Hancock successfully completes the photo backdrop challenge. The team had to figure out what the challenge was, build the photo backdrop, and then take a selfie.

The Mukilteo Family YMCA's goal in hosting Saturday's Summer Connection Race was to teach youths the value of teamwork. That mission was accomplished as 50 boys and girls, ages 11 and up, participated in nine different timed team building challenges that required members to work with each other. Teams solved puzzles at the Mukilteo Library, performed CPR at the fire department, and ran back and forth with a wet sponge in a water bucket challenge at the police department. At the YMCA, youths built a photo backdrop, shot baskets and made paper airplanes that they then threw into a target.
