Early Saloons & Pool Halls | Muk Revisited

Early buildings on Front Street include the Exchange Saloon located between Fowler's Hotel and the Bay View Hotel.

Morris Frost and his business partner, Jacob Fowler, established the first White settlement at Mukilteo in about 1860. Before this, Jacob Fowler had been operating a saloon and hotel at Ebey's Landing on Whidbey Island.

So it is not surprising that the Exchange Saloon became one of the first businesses Fowler started in the fledgling settlement at Mukilteo. Located in a prime spot on Front Street, between Fowler's Store and the Bay View Hotel, the Exchange Saloon became a popular place for loggers from surrounding areas to stop for relaxation, refreshment and entertainment.
