Lakewood admits racist comments were directed at Mariner girls basketball team

Representatives of Lakewood High School said a third-party report on the May 20 girls basketball game between Mariner and Lakewood raised serious concerns.

In a letter posted on the Lakewood School District website, Lakewood principal Jeanette Grisham and Lakewood Superintendent Scott Peacock wrote, "Lakewood spectators made at least two racially offensive statements.
