Students spruce up the neighborhood

Members of Hand in Hand's STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Mechanical) Mind Crafting Club's Casino Road Litter Picking Patrol collected trash from the neighborhood June 9.

If the Casino Road neighborhood in South Everett is looking especially clean these days, it's due to the hard work of seven students in the Mukilteo School District.

The seven are members of a STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Mechanical) Mind Crafting club organized by Hand in Hand, a nonprofit organization that provides support services to children and families.

Since October, students have met weekly for different educational activities. The students, ranging in age from 8 to 11 and from different schools in the district, wear masks and stay 6 feet apart.
