The Mukilteo Way Garden Club has awarded its $1,000 Horticulture Scholarship for 2021-22 to Marina de la Cruz.

The Lake Stevens graduate will be completing her Bachelor of Science degree at Washington State University-Everett campus in spring of 2022. Her degree will be in Organic and Sustainable Agriculture with a minor in Soil Science.

She has always had a passion for plants, which has driven her previous educational accomplishments including an Associates degree in Environmental Horticulture from Western Washington University. Along with sustainability, she has a deep interest in food...
